|About the Photographer
Diane has been an avid photographer for many years. While living in Alaska she enjoyed the beauty of the expansive landscape, preserving images of high mountain peaks and tall evergreens on film.
After moving to the Pacific Northwest, she was delighted to see numerous gardens and parks filled with beautiful flowers, colorful trees, and ornamental grasses. Her photography changed to reflect her growing interest in the rich colors, patterns, and textures found in garden life. She began viewing the world in a series of small spaces, rather than large panoramas.
In 2005 Diane began using digital cameras—both the Nikon D70 and D80—and has enjoyed the digital darkroom, recognizing the similarities to traditional wet darkrooms used for developing and printing images from film.
